Recently I was invited on an Elk bow hunt this spr

Recently I was invited on an Elk bow hunt this spring in NM. I jumped at the opportunity, to try something I’ve never done before. This week I’ve started skill training for that hunt. We upped the poundage on my bow from 35lbs. (My starting pull) to 44lbs. My goal is to hit a consistent 50lb. pull before I leave. My groupings are getting tighter and I’m definitely feeling more confident. Soon I’ll start training in the simulator so I hopefully won’t freak out when I see this enormous, gorgeous animal in the wild. We saw graffiti from 1861 and all I could keep thinking about was how we were walking on history and that year the Civil War would start… history is all around us. I finally got the opportunity to sit down and watc

I finally got the opportunity to sit down and watch @crossfitgames. I didn’t get to see much of the competition during the event since I had the privilege of being a judge this year. Watching them back just reaffirmed my feelings I experienced at the games. That the CrossFit Games are beautiful. I’m not talking about all the fit people. It’s beautiful because this sport of fitness brings the world together multiple times a year. We had competitors from Dubai, New Zealand, Finland, Argentina…master’s athletes in their 60’s, teenagers just starting out at 14 and adaptive athletes that put on clinics. Too many times over that week I was hit by the absolute beauty of it. On the judging team we had people from Egypt, Italy, France, UK, and Mexico. The CrossFit games are not just a fitness competition but a cultural melting pot that I fell in love with all over again. #crossfitgames #teamjudgement #idrankthecoolaidagain #crossfitfamily
