Leaf Peeping Adventures: Hop a train!

If you’re anything like me you’re hoping that summer will last just a little bit longer. However, fall is full of fun adventures too. Just because the temperature dips a little doesn’t mean that the excursions have to stop.

Take a Foliage Train ride.

Here in Upstate New York, there are a variety of different train routes you can take to view the fall foliage. If you look at your state’s website you will find there may be a leaf peeping train trip you can take too!

There is something soothing about taking a train from one destination to another. While I was in graduate school in NYC I would take Amtrak up the Hudson River some weekends to visit home. Traveling that route in Autumn is one of the most serene times of the year. Taking the train gives you the opportunity to relax and view the colors of autumn.

Train trips are loved by everyone!

Train trips are great at any age. My Mom loves to ride the train and she is what inspired this post. Many of the train rides in New York offer brunch or lunch trips. For example, the Adirondack Scenic Railroad many fall foliage trips which you can opt to have lunch or breakfast on the train.

Do you have a special train trip that you like to take during the autumn? Let me know in the comments below. Until next time.
