Christmas Markets

I was recently researching for a trip to Edinburgh I plan on taking in the new year and came upon a blog by What Oliva Did (see below) from last year. In it Oliva went to the Christmas Market there. Which got me to thinking… how have I not been to a Christmas Market yet? I have a friend who travels to Germany frequently and has mentioned going to the Nuremberg Market before but I really couldn’t picture exactly what it would be like. Now after watching the vlog below…I want to see them all!

This year I’m planning on attending two Christmas Markets. The Winter Village at Bryant Park in New York and the Great Dickensian Christmas Fair in San Francisco.  I’m a little embarrassed. I lived in New York for four years and I never went to the Christmas market at Bryant Park. Well I’m making up for that this year. I’m excited to see what it’s all about. To see what type of trinkets are being sold in each stall and what type of food might await me.

I have to admit I’m a little more excited about the Great Dickensian Christmas Fair in San Francisco. Each weekend between November 19th and December 18th this fair hosts an array of events including parades, dances and short plays!

I don’t know about you guys but I’m so excited for this Christmas season! Is there a Christmas market that you like to attend each year? Let me know in the comments! Until next time, life happens so travel now!
