Re-evaluation

There are times in life when you have to take a look and see if there is anything there that needs to be changed. I think of it as re-evaluating. You can do this for anything, your fitness routine, your diet, your closet and your job, among other things.

It’s important to re-evaluate. Without introspection, we cannot grow as people. A couple of years ago I took this amazing yoga workshop called 40 Days to a Personal Revolution. The creator Baron Baptiste put together a program meant to not only help you create a personal yoga routine and habit but to make you look at your life and really dig into it. It was by far the most challenging thing I have done to date. Every week we had a series of excavation question to ask ourselves. At first, these questions were fairly simple, “where do you see yourself in 5 years” or “what is one goal you hope to gain from this workshop.” By week two the gloves were off and you had to ask yourself questions like, “Look at the relationships in your life, do they serve you or cause you pain?” or “Are you happy with you?”

However, when I allowed myself to answer the questions honestly and really dig into the heart of the truth I was rewarded. The reward was peace of mind, a release of an unseen weight I didn’t know was there. It’s amazing when you re-evaluate what you can find.

I’ve recently been talking with one of my best friends and we were looking at my blog and I realized that I needed to re-evaluate and re-focus so over the next few weeks I’m going to be taking some time to do that. I hope you’ll all give me feedback. Which posts have you preferred, what would you like to learn more about? Let me know. Until next time.

Today’s WOD? Get out and do something! Anything, go for a run or bike, just be active!
