This week was Valentine’s Day and I thought I would share some snapshots of my favorite city…Edinburgh, Scotland. If you haven’t been there it’s worth the trip. I there’s so much I love about Edinburgh, the architecture, the food, the culture. Whenever I think about this atmospheric northern city I smile.

Chapel at Holyrood Palace

On the opposite end, at the top of the Royal Mile sits Edinburgh Castle. This imposing structure is one of the most recognizable symbols of Edinburgh.

On the wall of Edinburgh Castle. Edinburgh Castle is host to several museums and their cafe serves some pretty tasty soup.

View of the stands for the Military Tattoo from the castle. The Military tattoo runs throughout the month of August during the Fringe festival but preparations begin in June.

Victoria Street. JK Rowling’s inspiration for Diagon Alley

Greyfriars Bobby which sits just outside Greyfriars cemetery. This Nicholson’s pub is super cozy and has a fantastic sticky toffee pudding!

Greyfriar’s Churchyard & Cemetery. If you’re a fan of Harry Potter you can find Tom Riddle, Prof. McGonagall, and Mad-Eyed Moody. There are tons of walking tours available.

Edinburgh gives you a feeling of coziness. I love how the buildings are close and everything is walkable.

This is my favorite tea spot. It’s located inside one of the touristy gift shops on Prince Street. You have to walk up three flights of stairs to get to it but with a view like this, it’s worth it.
